That is fine. You still can join the Campaign. Every single green trip is valuable for our environment. Everytime you travel by bike, bus or foot will contribute to your Offices effort as well. So lets do it!
The Green Transport Week 2009 is a campaign calling workplaces to encourage their employees to use green transport mode such as cycling,
walking busing instead of using cars and motorbike for their personal health, the health of their communities and the health of the environment. Individuals in Hanoi can participate too.
The Campaign will find out the Travel Wise Offices / workplaces and award the prize for offices/workplaces with the highest percentage participation rates durng the week 28 September to 2 October 2009.
If you already use alternative forms of transportation to get to work you are already a green commuter! You can really help us by encouraging your co-workers to take the challenge.
See You Tube video of last year Green Transport Day 16 May 2008.

Your office/ workplace needs to register with us to be officially counted to this Campaign.
You will need some basic information about your workplace, such as the total number of employees.
If your company has multiple locations, it is best that they are each registered as a separate team (and the "total employees" reported for each one should be for that location only).
We thank you very much for your support and willingness to take the appeal and join the campaign. As the campaign this year is targeted for offices in Hanoi, we will not count you in the final results. But as individuals, you are still able to use the site, log your green trips just like everyone else.
Your office should have one Green Transport Ambassador to collect all information and update us with the results so that your office’s effort is officially registered with us. Contact us for more details.
If you see the name of your office is registered but the Team Commute Rate is displaying 0%, that is likely because we have not record the total number of employees are at your workplace. If so, please contact us to update.
It is also possible that your team members have not registered online under your office/ workplace’s name. Please inform your team to do so.
You can contact us to change the name, address and category of your office/workplace team
All you need is a working email address. If you do not have web access at work or during work hours, please contact us to discuss the best way to update your results. After you started registration, an email was sent to the address you entered with a unique link that will allow you to complete registration and start logging trips. Also check your junk mail box if you don’t receive the confirmation from us.
If you still cannot receive that email, contact us.
Upon login, you will be able to choose a unique "login" that identifies you to the database.
If you work at multiple workplaces, please only register at one workplace and log green travel with that particular workplace only.
If you are from a community group, student club and would like to participate, you still can take the appeal and register as individuals.
You can retrieve your Personal ID if you provide your registered email address.
Use the "I forgot my password" link at the upper right hand corner of the page, underneath “Register” icon.
It will email you a link to change your password and will remind you of your Personal ID.
To log in, enter your Personal ID and password into the boxes in the upper right-hand corner of the home page.
Please note that you only can log the commute diary from the day you register. That is, if you register on Tuesday, you can log your green mileage from Tuesday.
You should report that day as "work from home", your CO2 emission to work on that day will be reported as 0.
Some data that you registered with us at the beginning will serve as baseline data and can not be changed, such as your average commute mileage to work and the transportation mode and your target during the week.
You can edit other information such as email address, contact number and your commute log.
In this campaign, we most concern about the trip from your home- office/ workplace and return. It makes the competition base somewhat easier across offices/ workplaces.
However, we encourage that when possible, all work related traveling, such as travel to field station, visit a customer/partner to be done with green transport modes.
Upon registration, you provide your most frequent transport mode to work.
This provides the basis to calculate your benchmarking CO2 level.
When you use Green transport to get to work, the CO2 saved will be the difference between
your benchmarking CO2 level and the CO2 emitted with green transport mode (if any)
As you might imagine, this CO2 emission by transport mode would vary depending on a number
of factors such as vehicle’s fuel efficiency, the fuel quality, the road condition, carrying capacity.
For simplicity, we use the follow method of the IPCC 2006 Guidelines for National Greenhouse
Gas Inventories to calculate CO2 emission by transport mode:
Distance travel (km)* Petrol consumption (liter/km)* Fuel emission factor (kg CO2/ liter)
CO2 emission factor per km travel by different transport mode is:
Type of transport
Type of fuel
CO2 emission factor
Carrying load
Motorbike (4 stroke) (<125cc)
Petrol

For example, you normally travel to work for 10km by motorbike. You would emit 459g CO2 during this trip.
If you switch to use Bus, the CO2 emission is only 75g CO2. You save 384g CO2 for a single trip.

Office prizes:
There is one prize for each category. The winners will be based on highest rate of employees participated with the Campaign. They will be recognized with the Travel-Wise Employer award with $100 award and will be featured in the media, on Green Transport Website and NGO Resource Center website. If many offices have the same rate, additional criteria such as green distance traveled will be used.
Micro workplace: up to 10 employees
Small workplace: up to 25 employees
Medium: up to 80 employees
Large Workplace: above 81 employees
Individual prizes
There is one random prize awarded daily for the team member and their workplace. The total number of random prizes for this Campaign is 5.
There is one final prize for individual who save most CO2 and one for individual who has the longest green distance traveled during the week.
Action for the City will act on behalf of the sponsors and other members of the Green Transport Week team. We reserve the right to announce the final prize winner. In case the false information provided or winner can not be contacted, we reserve the right not to deliver the announced prizes.
Any one from your workplace who take the appeal and join the Campaign can be a Green Transport Ambassadors. The Green Transport Ambassadors will help us to spread the word about the Campaign to other co-workers and help us to release the final results to the whole office.
We will use your email address to keep you informed about the Green Transport Campaign events. We will not use email addresses obtained through the Green Transport Week for other purposes throughout the year, and we will not sell your email address.
